The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, Calicut has been in the forefront of the educational scenario for 131 years. We have been providing the invaluable gift of quality education to generations of students who have proved their merit as achievers occupying key positions in society. We are grateful to the Zamorins of Calicut, our patrons, for locating us on this lofty green ambience and passing on a tradition of high moral and intellectual character. Our efforts in the field of knowledge production and dissemination have included non-discriminatory practices geared at achieving social justice.

Goal

The goal of our college is to help the students achieve academic excellence and play the role of socially responsible individuals by inculcating social values.

Objectives

To equip the students with the ability to earn their livelihood.
To develop a sense of social responsibility among students.
To develop social skills and inculcate values like co-operation, team spirit, discipline, fair play and so on through extra curricular activities.
To transmit social heritage through various organizational units.
To create an environment conducive to promoting individual qualities such as personal initiatives, accurate thinking, positive attitude, determination, the tenacity to achieve goals and the overall personality development of the student.
To educate the students to respect and earn respect.

All our endeavours are directed towards achieving the goals and objectives of the institution. Our internal quality systems such as Teacher’s Diary, Interactive Sessions, Credit Rating System, Tutorial System and Student feedback enrich the curriculum, thus paving the way for better performance by the students. We promote a wide spectrum of co-curricular activities for the overall personality development of a student. The activities of NSS, CSS, CRC, Student Clubs and Student Union are streamlined towards this end. Students are provided with psychotherapy and counselling as and when required which helps their overall development.
