Career Guidance Cell actively promotes student career counseling and placement services.The Career Guidance Cell has stepped up its activities in recent times under the dynamic leadership of its college coordinator. An employability skills development programme was conducted recently for students from the science and humanities streams. Placement services and career counseling are also offered by the cell.

2005-06
The Career Guidance centre arranged a total of seven lectures, seminars and interactive sessions during the course of the year aimed at creating awareness amongst the students about various career options available.
Sreeja.P, Hageesh, Praseetha of III BSc Physics and Rohith.K of III BSc Maths were selected to undergo M.S. at Bits Pilani in the campus placement conducted by Wipro. Sachit.M. and Hageesh got placement in the placement programme conducted at I.T.Park, Kochi, 2005.
Two of our students who completed UG programme in 2005 were inducted as trainees in the field of education at the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Calicut.
2006-07
Sri.Abhilash.K, a student of MA.Economics, participated in the Liberty and Society Seminar 2006" - a four day Residential Seminar for College students to engage with Critical Public Policy Issues (September 21-24, 2006) at Cochin, organised by Centre for Civil Society, New Delhi.
The centre in association with the Post Graduate Dept. of English, conducted a one day orientation workshop on UGC - JRF/NET Examination on 06-12-06. 160 post graduate students of our college attended the workshop. Dr.Kalliyani Vallath, Director, Vallath TES, Trivandrum, acted as resource person for the workshop.
The centre, in association with Malayala Manorama Thozhil Veethi, organised a one day Career Guidance Seminar on 20-01-07. The seminar which focussed on career advancement for different disciplines also included a personality development session, a question and answer session, group discussion and a session on facing an interview board. Dr.R.Venkitaraman, and Dr.Sanadanan Velluva, H.R.D experts served as resource persons. 214 students, representing different disciplines attended and actively participated in the seminar. Prizes were distributed to students for outstanding performance in a group discussion session.
Triumphant Institute for Management Studies (TIME), Calicut chapter conducted a free Talent Search Examination for students planning to appear for All India MCA/ MBA Talent Search Examinations. 100 students of our college attended the examination. Meritorious students were offered special scholarship package for the ensuing coaching classes conducted by TIME, Calicut centre. The examination was on 10-10-06
TIME, Calicut chapter also conducted an All India Mock NIMCET Examinations for Science students on 7th January 2007 at Chinmaya Viswa Vidyalaya, Calicut. 12 science students from our institution appeared for the examination.
Jaidev.R (B.Com) completed the 22 day Career Agents Training Programme conducted by LIC, Calicut Division successfully.

2007-08
IBS, one among the top 10 business schools in India, conducted an academic session on career advancement and opportunities in MBA Programmes in India. The same institution also conducted an MBA Mock Test to assess the preparedness and competence of students intending to appear for CAT & MAT examinations.
NICAT, Calicut, organized a career-oriented programme on Technical writing, Web journalism and Multimedia in which Faculty members and a few select literature students participated.
Around 30 students intending to pursue MBA programme for higher studies attended a seminar "Studying Business in Today's Economy" organized by International Business School, Cochin, at Taj Residency, Calicut.
Sri. P.C. Sreejith Sankar Raja, Systems Manager, IBM, Bangalore, addressed 60 students of our college at a seminar on career opportunities in IT- enabled services organized by the cell.
ICFAI National College, Calicut organized a four day career- oriented workshop on imparting training in employability skills for young graduates to get them prepared to face the interview board. Forty-eight students of our college representing various disciplines attended the seminar. The students rated the programme as fruitful and useful.
IMAGE Infotainment Ltd., organized a seminar for our students interested in pursuing career opportunities in Digital Media in which 200 students actively participated and interacted.
TIME conducted a seminar on career opportunities in Management and Computer application in which 220 students from different disciplines interested in pursuing MBA/MCA programmes actively participated and interacted with the experts.
CMS computers Ltd., a giant in software & hardware networking conducted a career-oriented programme on "Latest Trends in Hardware and Software Networking". CMS computers require approximately 5000-trained manpower annually for meeting their committed supply to Multinational firms and Indian railways. The seminar was intended mainly for science students.
A seminar on "Development of Employability Skills" was organized by Career Forum- an ISO 9001-2000, Pune based company. The programme focused on the development of employability skills, personality development and soft skills development. Around 250 students from different disciplines turned up. The feedback from the students was enthusiastic. They rated the programme as excellent and highly fruitful.
Placements
Nine students got placement in various firms. In July 2007, Premier Group of Companies conducted a recruitment drive for fresh graduates to place in their organization. 13 students turned up, out of which 5 students were selected.
Malayala Manorama, Radio Mango FM Station conducted campus recruitment for trainees in which 25 students participated. One student was selected and placed as R.J. Five students got placement in HCL, WIPRO and SATHYAM Computers in the campus interviews conducted at Cochin, Trivandrum and Calicut.
Year 2008-2009
The Career Guidance Centre of our College organized a P.T.A-sponsored Employability Skill Development Programme for 120 students selected from the Science and Humanities Streams from the 12th to the 14th and 22nd to 24th of January, 2009. The programme was conducted in association with the Calicut Centre of the Career Forum. The best performers from the Humanities and the Science Stream received a cash award of Rs. 500/- each from the Career Forum. The top performers of the qualifying exams of the above programme have also received cash prizes from the Career Forum.
