The PG and Research Department of Botany was established in 1957 with the bachelor’s degree course.  Now the department is an Approved Research Centre of the University of Calicut, with five faculty members (Dr. Rajan, P.P., Dr. KP Rajesh, Dr. Manju C. Nair, Dr. Arun Kumar, T.K. and Dr. Sanoj, E.) as Ph.D. guides.
